In the name of God,

The national webinar titled"Psychological Adaptation to the COVID-19 Pandemic"was held on Sunday, July 19, 2020, from 18:00 to 19:30. This webinar was organized by the Community-Based Psychiatric Care Research Center with the aim of promoting psychological adaptation during the COVID-19 pandemic and providing practical strategies for individuals. The executive secretary of the webinar was Dr. Maryam Shaygan, the head of the Community-Based Psychiatric Care Research Center. The speakers for this event were Dr. Nazanin Honarpouran, a faculty member at Islamic Azad University, family counselor, schema therapist, and a board member of the Psychology Organization of Fars Province, and Dr. Mohammad Nami, the head of the Neuroscience Department and research deputy at the Faculty of Medicine and Medical Technologies at Shiraz University of Medical Sciences.

The webinar began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by an introduction to the event, speakers, and the time allocated for each presentation by Dr. Maryam Shaygan.

Dr. Nazanin Honarpouran began by discussing the "Psychological Causes of Indifference to Health Protocols." She highlighted the psychological characteristics of individuals in different age groups, with particular attention to the youth, who, compared to other age groups, are more likely to display indifference. She provided a detailed explanation of the various causes for this sense of indifference and emphasized its importance in the current situation.

Following this, Dr. Mohammad Nami addressed the topic of "Psychological Adaptation and Motivational-Adaptive Structures." He connected his talk with the earlier discussion on individuals who exhibit indifference during the pandemic and elaborated on the other side of the spectrum—those who experience excessive sensitivity. He explained the negative psychological effects on various aspects of life for these individuals, including changes in sleep patterns, anxiety, and stress. Dr. Nami then presented practical methods for psychological adaptation during these challenging times, including mindfulness exercises and yoga.

The webinar concluded with a Q&A session, where the speakers answered questions from participants.

This event served as an essential platform for sharing strategies to cope with the psychological challenges arising from the COVID-19 pandemic, offering valuable insights into how individuals can adapt and maintain their mental well-being in these unprecedented times.
