A meeting was held on Thursday, October 19, 2022, with Dr. Maryam Shaygan, the Director of the Community-Based Psychiatric Care Research Center, Dr. Noorollah Mohammadi, the Dean of the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences at Shiraz University, Dr. Chalmeh, a researcher at the Counseling Department of Fars Education, and a group of managers and program makers from the Fars Province Radio and Television Organization. The meeting took place at the Radio and Television Organization in Shiraz.

The discussion focused on how the local media could address psychological and educational issues related to youth and adolescents. The participants explored the psychological, cultural, and social challenges faced by youth and adolescents, as well as the factors influencing them.

Dr. Shaygan emphasized that educational institutions, media outlets, and universities play a central role in enhancing the culture and mental health of society. She stressed the importance of increased collaboration between the local media, the Fars Education Department, and universities to create platforms for transmitting knowledge and experience from experts in order to improve the mental health of society, particularly among youth and adolescents.

One of the key challenges highlighted during the meeting was the lack of cooperation from some professors who are hesitant to participate in media programs. The participants advocated for the formation of think tanks, leveraging university resources, and encouraging specialists to collaborate with the media as program experts.
